Overview

Sikles Villages Trek is a unique location, with a pristine and natural presence, beautiful mountain villages, high alpine meadows snuggled below the towering mountains of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II (7,937m), Annapurna IV (7,525), and the glacier lake called Kaphuche Lake is now the major attraction of this trekking.

Sikles Trek is one of the perfect destinations to explore Gurung Cultures Heritage. It is the second largest Gurung village in Nepal. There is a strong belief among the villagers that, during the Dashain and Tihar (Hindu festival) the local youths are not allowed to play the Nepali drum (Madal), Folk activities until the festival is over. Otherwise, the god will get angry and avalanches thunder down off the mountainsides.

In this trek, you will have the chance to travel through the lush forest of rhododendrons, various patterns of terraced fields, breathtaking mountain ranges and landscapes. There are trekking routes which are worth experiencing like Kori and Kaphuche Lake. You can discover numerous species of birds, waterfalls, and species of pet and wild animals. Since this is an emerging trekking route, it is less crowded than other trails in the Annapurna region. The Kaphuche Lake is the ultimate destination of Sikles. In Nepal, all glacier lakes are situated 4,000m above sea level but Kaphuche Glacier Lake is unique in that it is idyllically situated at just 2,450m above sea level. You can also witness several small avalanches falling straight to the lake with the sliding noise of ice and the snow from Mt. Annapurna II. The color of the Lake will be blue and reflects the sky.

Useful Info

Except for the monsoon season, all the seasons are the best for Sikles and Kapuche Lake trek. The main season for beautiful mountains and lakes is from September to November. The view of the Lake and mountains will be marvelous these months. And for the avalanches, February to April is the best month to go for this trek. During monsoon trails become slippery and even the mountains hide behind the clouds most of the time.
